February 25 – 26, 2005
Savannah, GA, USA
Located in the scenic costal city of Savannah, Georgia, the Southern Association for Information Systems (SAIS) Conference is an intimate gathering of around one hundred participants, ranging from doctoral students and junior faculty to senior faculty and recognized scholars in the information systems field. SAIS is an official chapter of the Association for Information Systems (AIS)
Now in its seventh year, the SAIS Conference provides an opportunity for close interaction among presenters and attendees. Both completed research and research-in-progress are presented in four parallel tracks. All papers are published in the Conference Proceedings. In addition, starting with last year’s Conference, authors have the option of including their papers in the AIS e-Library.
Savannah is a city rich in history and culture that was recently made famous in the book, Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil. Savannah was founded by the English General Oglethorpe in early in the 18th century and still has much of its Colonial and Early American charm. The Conference is held in a four-star hotel located on the Savannah River near the city's historic district. The average temperature in early March is around 20 degrees centigrade.
Past SAIS conferences have attracted scholars from around the globe, and we invite European scholars to join us once again in 2005. The current favorable exchange rate between the euro and dollar makes travel to the United States particularly attractive at this time.
Additional information about Savannah is available at the Savannah Convention and Visitor's Bureau Web site, http://www.savcvb.com/, and the Savannah City Guide, http://www.ourcoast.com/savannahcityguide/. For more information on the conference itself, please consult our Web site, http://www.southernais.org or contact Craig Van Slyke, SAIS President, at cvanslyke.bus.ucf.edu or +1-407-823-4149.
